I always replace every customer's transformers with 24V transformer. I've had few issues with 16VAC transformers, now it's a must buy.It's kind of too bad the weatherproofing on these is only NEMA type 3R rather than type 4. Plenty of other (cheaper and run-of-the-mill) EVSEs are type 4. Type 3R means it's not rated to withstand heavy rain, so it's only OK under an overhang. Type 4 can be fully-exposed to the elements. I replaced my ISP router + U6-LR with ...U6-Pro PoE requirements. Question. I'm a little bit confused by the PoE requirements of the U6-Pro. The specs on the website say "802.3af PoE" but also "48V, 0.5A PoE adapter (not included)." The af injectors I have (and, I think, the af spec) only provide 0.32A (~15W). I think if it needs 0.5A, it would need 802.3at.A regular APC 900W UPS is about half the price of Ubiquiti's "Power Backup". The cost of the full Unifi system would be well over 4k, wich feels insane for a simple home setup like this. Once I start mix-n-matchin' ubiquity with Reolink and APC to bring the price down to a realistic number, the whole argument of an all-in-one solution falls ...The unifi cams are well built but expensive for what you get. Also, when using RTSP for BI, the settings/customization are pretty lacking compared to most other cameras (clearly, their primary focus is on the unifi ecosystem, not 3rd party integration). But, they work well enough.Honestly you should be fine with Ubiquiti's NanoHD or better yet the UniFi 6 Lite Access Point, which is wifi 6. Both are more then adequate for the square footage. I only mention the Nano because it's the "tried and tested" go to AP. But for $99 the Lite is a homerun too! Assuming you're ceiling mounting.Biggest thing personally: Meraki APs will STOP WORKING if you stop paying your monthly fee to the cloud mothership. Aerohive access points are managed through the cloud, but are full linux boxes at each AP. If you stop paying to the mothership, you can still manage them individually.
